6:45: The waves have dropped a bit more from yesterday, with waves in the half a foot to maybe one foot range. Conditions are clean and weak early, with our local winds currently blowing out of the WSW @ just 3 knots. Waves are in the shin to maybe knee high range, but I’m not seeing many of those knee high sets. The local buoy reading is coming in at 1.6 feet @ 12 seconds, down from yesterday’s 2 foot readings. Overall, it’s looking like the waves are starting to bottom out. If you’re hoping to surf today, I would wait for the tide to start turning around and pushing in in hopes of finding a potential longboard wave. The marine forecast calling for SE winds @ 5-10 knots later today. The water temperature is measured at 74.3 degrees at The Pier this morning. You can see the ocean live by viewing The Surf Station Cam Page here.

1:30 pm: The waves have pretty much bottomed out at report time, with waves in the half a foot to maybe one foot range. There’s more texture than early this morning, with our local winds currently blowing out of the ESE @ 8 knots. It’s breaking shallow and close to shore at report time, not looking rideable in many places. We have a high tide approaching just before 5 this evening, so there might be a small push with that incoming tide. Overall, it’s looking very small scale and not very clean but it’s still gorgeous out on the sand if you want to have a beach day.
