6:45: The waves have dropped quite a bit overnight, with waves looking to be in the one to maybe two foot range. Our local buoy is currently reading 3.0 feet @ 13 seconds. This is down just a bit from yesterday afternoon’s 3.6 foot readings. The conditions are very clean, with our local winds currently blowing out of the WSW @ 5 knots. Again, the waves are in the knee high or so range, the conditions are super clean but it’s also pretty bottomed out at report time, with a low tide approaching at 8:47 this morning. The marine forecast calling for SE winds @ 5-10 knots later today. The water temperature is measured at 73.4 degrees at The Pier this morning. You can see the ocean live by viewing The Surf Station Cam Page here.

1:50 pm: The waves are looking similar to earlier this morning, with waves mostly in the 1 to 2 foot range. There’s a bit more chop on it than earlier, as the winds have switched onshore, currently blowing out of the ENE @ 10 knots. There’s a bit more texture and the waves are looking pretty weak, but there are some waist high sets to be had at key spots.

4:45 pm: Looking at the waves later on this afternoon, it looks like it’s improved since the tide switch earlier today. The waves aren’t breaking quite so close to the shore and the form is about the same with our local winds currently blowing out of the SSE @ 16 knots. There are some open barrels around the pier if you’re willing to put up with the disorganization.
