7:05 am: The waves are not as large as yesterday. Wave size @ 2-3 feet, occasionally a little larger. The wind is onshore E @ 3-7 knots early. The marine forecast calls for the wind to be onshore NE today. Our local buoy the early morning wave height reading is 4.6 feet at 11 seconds, down from yesterdays 5.9 feet at 8 seconds. The water temperature is measured at 84 degrees offshore this morning. You can see the ocean live by viewing The Surf Station Cam Page here.

8:00 am: Early morning photos are up in box #1 and you can see that although smaller than yesterday, we still have sizable waves for your Thursday. Some easily chest high waves. Goodness if the wind were offshore it would be epic, but it’s instead onshore so semi-choppy surface conditions. The swell still has a whole lot of north in it so the waves are angling in, pushing south. The N to S current should lighten up some at some point. A very high chance of rain today, and maybe if it does it will glass it off? So could get good for a while, however the forecast is for the wind to be onshore all day today. Keep your eye on the Surf Station Cam Page here to see the ocean live and for any changes as the day goes on….

11:45 am: There are some larger looking waves still this midday, with waves in the chest to shoulder high plus range at key spots. The conditions are semi-clean to semi-choppy, with our local winds currently blowing out of the NE @ 5 to 10 knots. It does look like we’re going to have some rainstorms pushing through throughout the day, so surface conditions are likely to continue to change as those storms pass through. Our local buoy is currently reading 3.9 feet @ 10 seconds, so there’s plenty of swell on the buoy. Overall, there are still some sizeable waves with fair form. I would say to get out there if you can!

Left up from yesterday:
1:45 pm: Some left hand bombs pushing in at the pier. Angled N windswell/groundswell combination with so much ummph behind it! Check the new afternoon photos are posted in box #2 and see the size and angle. Some very steep take offs and lefts pushing down the beach at times. Hard to make some of them and some of them are opening up tubes…
